Cape Town - Indian captain, Virat Kohli, has won the toss and decided to bowl first in a crucial Group B encounter against the Proteas at the Oval in London.
Both teams need to win this encounter to progress to the knock-out stages of the tournament.
"Teams generally like chasing, gives us a chance to do what we need to do when we come out to bat. Depends on what the bowlers offer us. When you bat second, you know what you need to do," said Kohli at the toss.
AB de Villiers was happy to bat first. "Probably not a bad thing to bowl first, but happy to bat. Excited to get a score. We seen some good scoring here, upto our batters to communicate really well to understand what is a good score," said De Villiers
Both teams have made one change to their starting lineups with Andile Phehlukwayo replacing Wayne Parnell for the Proteas and Ravichandran Ashwin in for Umesh Yadav in the Indian lineup.
