WATCH: Domingo on AB's form, fitness

Cape Town - It's been a tough few hours for Proteas captain AB de Villiers, who has been criticised heavily on social media since his side's loss to Pakistan on Wednesday.

The Proteas went down by 19 runs, using the Duckworth-Lewis system, in a rain-affected game at Edgbaston that has thrown their future at the ICC Champions Trophy into serious doubt. 

De Villiers made a first-ball duck - the first of his ODI career - and was also criticised for opting to bat first, given the likelihood of rain later in the day. 

Having made just four in South Africa's tournament opener against Sri Lanka, De Villiers is not having the best time with the bat at the moment. 

He remains the No 1 ranked player in the world, and if South Africa are to overcome India on Sunday and secure their path through to the semi-finals, they will want their trump card firing on all cylinders.

Coach Russell Domingo, though, has faith that De Villiers will come good.
