Proteas fast bowling duo Kagiso Rabada and Anrich Nortje starred for the Delhi Capitals as they secured a comfortable win over the Chennai Super Kings on Friday.
Rabada took three for 26 to steer the Capitals to their second-consecutive win of the Indian Premier League (IPL) as they won by 44 runs at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium.
Rabada claimed the purple cap after his performance with the bat as he currently has five wickets in the tournament thus far.
After Chennai skipper MS Dhoni won the toss and elected to field, Capitals opener Prithvi Shaw got the ball rolling as he smashed 64 off 43 balls.
Spinner Piyush Chawla was the pick of the bowlers for the Super Kings as the Capitals posted 175/3 on the board.
Nortje claimed his first IPL wicket as the dismissed opener Murali Vijay for 10.
Former Proteas skipper Faf du Plessis and Kedar Jadhav put up a 54-run stand but soon Nortje trapped the Indian batsman Jadhav for 26.
Du Plessis once again led the Chennai chase in reply and made a valiant 43 off 35 balls but Chennai ended on 131/7 in their 20 overs.
Du Plessis was also handed the orange cap as the highest-run scorer in the tournament thus far - scoring on 173 runs.
