Proteas star Rassie van der Dussen is set to make his Indian Premier League (IPL) debut with the Rajasthan Royals in the coming days.

The right-hander, who has been in superlative form with the willow for South Africa across all formats, is set to fill in one of the gaps left by a myriad of injuries and withdrawals in the Royals' camp.

CricTracker reports that England quick Jofra Archer was ruled out before the IPL began, then Ben Stokes broke his finger without playing in a single match, while the Royals have also lost Andrew Tye and Liam Livingstone.

Van der Dussen is reportedly seeing out his mandatory seven-day quarantine period, after which he will join his new team-mates.

Van der Dussen, 32, is currently ranked No 6 on the ICC T20 batting rankings list and could be a vital asset for Rajasthan, who are bottom of the eight-team standings with one win from four matches.

He has played 20 T20Is for South Africa, scoring 628 runs at a handy average of 41.86 and an impressive strike rate of 138.63.

The Royals are yet to find good form in the IPL, having won just two of their five matches.
