Former Proteas captain AB de Villiers was in superb form in the IPL on Sunday, smashing 76* (34) to help the Royal Challengers Bangalore to victory over the Kolkata Knight Riders in Chennai.
It was an innings of the highest order that secured De Villiers the man-of-the-match award and reminded everyone of his incredible shot-making ability with the bat.
Naturally, the performance re-ignited conversation around a potential return to the Proteas set-up with the T20 World Cup scheduled for India later this year.
At the post-match awards ceremony, De Villiers spoke about his innings and how he had performed so well despite having had so little game time in recent months.
"I did play well and I had a lot of fun out there," he said.
"I surprise myself as well sometimes, but these kind of knocks you can't really prepare for.
"You've just got to go out there and give it your best shot and try and adapt accordingly.
"The most important thing is that I enjoy it. I just love playing cricket and I love playing for this team."
