No demons in Wanderers track

Cape Town - Wanderers groundsman Chris Scott says there is nothing sinister about the pitch he is preparing for the first Test between South Africa and India.

The Indians struggled to handle the pace of the South African wickets in the one-day series, which was comfortably won 2-0 by the hosts.

But Scott, in an interview with the ESPNcricinfo's Firdose Moonda, rubbished the notion that when a subcontinent team visits, he is under instruction to go green.

"We always try to have pitches with good pace and bounce but I am not doing anything fancy."

Scott said he always follows the same formula, no matter the opponents, and that he tries to produce similar pitches to provide a good contest between bat and ball.

The first Test start on Wednesday.
