Cape Town - Reeza Hendricks is in the form of his life, but he does not think that his runs in the Mzansi Super League (MSL) will have any bearing on his selection for next year's World Cup in England.

The 29-year-old has posted scores of 55 (48)104* (51), 108* (62) and 79 (48) in his last four MSL innings for the Jozi Stars that have seen him rocket to the top of the run-scoring charts in the tournament.

On Tuesday, Hendricks fell just 21 runs short of becoming the first player to ever score three T20 centuries in a row.

"I don't think so," Hendricks said on Tuesday night when asked if he had ever batted better than he is currently.

"It's a purple patch that I'm going through at the moment. I'm grateful for what is happening at the moment."

Hendricks is very much in the plans for the World Cup in England next year, but he does not necessarily think that his current form will count for much.

"This is a different format. I'd love to think that it has some impact towards it, but it is a different format," he said.

"I'm just taking it as it comes. The World Cup is still a while away, so hopefully I can keep scoring runs."

Despite being on the verge of history, Hendricks insists that he wasn't thinking about a third successive century against the Cape Town Blitz at Newlands on Tuesday.

"It wasn't a thought. I was just trying to focus ball by ball and at the time we had to go for everything, so I was just thinking about clearing the ropes," he said.

Hendricks will next be in action when the Stars travel to Kingsmead to take on the Durban Heat on Friday.
