Cricket South Africa (CSA) is currently in talks with the various unions and boards to decide whether the One Day Cup tournament will continue amid the coronavirus pandemic.

The global outbreak has forced multiple sporting events around the world to be either cancelled or postponed.

The round-robin phase of the tournament concluded over the weekend, with the two semi-finals scheduled for this week.

In the first semi-final, the Dolphins are due to host the Knights at Kingsmead on Tuesday, while the Lions face the Warriors at the Wanderers on Wednesday.

According to a KwaZulu-Natal Cricket Union press release, the union will be engaging CSA along with all relevant stakeholders in a meeting on Monday.

"With significant ticket sales for the match and a groundswell of hometown support for the Dolphins, the union is grateful for the interest in this match, but insists that whatever decisions are taken will be done in the best interests of all the players, staff and fans," it read.

The final decision on the fixture and tournament will be communicated later on Monday.

Meanwhile, the Proteas are currently on their way back home after their three-match ODI series against India in India was postponed.

The Proteas departed Kolkata on Monday morning and will connect to South Africa via Dubai.

Cape Town-based players and management staff are set to fly directly from Dubai, while the rest of the team will fly to OR Tambo International.

Quinton de Kock and his side are expected to arrive in South Africa on Wednesday morning.
