Cricket South Africa (CSA) will announce the new Proteas' Test captain at a press conference on Tuesday, June 3 at the Sandton Convention Centre in Johannesburg.

The in-coming captain will take over from Graeme Smith, who announced his retirement from the game in March this year after more than a decade in charge.

The "unofficial shortlist" of candidates to take over include AB de Villiers, Faf du Plessis and Hashim Amla.

National convener of selectors, Andrew Hudson, will also name the respective Test and ODI squads to take on Sri Lanka in July.


The tour will comprise of two Tests and three ODIs, with the first ODI taking place in Colombo on July 6.
