AB, Root share a post-Test beer

Cape Town - It may have been a series to forget for the Proteas, but in the spirit of the game, Proteas skipper AB de Villiers and star England batsman Joe Root had time for a beer and a chat after the fourth Test ended in Pretoria on Tuesday.

The Proteas won the match by 280 runs, but still went down 2-1 in the series.

It was South Africa's first win in 10 Test matches and De Villiers' first as captain, and he was pictured sharing a 'cold one' with Root in the dressing room afterwards.

England No 3 Nick Compton posted the photograph to his Instagram account.

"Two of the best around! What a tour ... Great experience and to win in SA has been incredible. Disappointing end but thanks for all the support," Compton wrote.

De Villiers made a pair in the match and averaged just 30 throughout the series while Root was a constant thorn in South Africa's side, scoring 386 runs at an average of 55.14.
