Sports Minister Nathi Mthethwa's frustration with the South African Sports Confederation and Olympic Committee (Sascoc) was apparent when a question was posed to him regarding the organisation's future mediation role in federation disputes.

"I don't know. Sascoc must respond to that, but there's no way that this process will go back," Mthethwa said on Friday.

This stern and short-worded statement from a normally wordy Mthethwa spoke volumes of Sascoc's attempts to hijack Cricket South Africa's (CSA) Memorandum of Incorporation (MOI) amendment process, which will lead to the election of a majority independent board.
