Cape Town - Hashim Amla fell thirteen runs short of a century as he helped the Proteas build a massive lead on day three of their second Test against England.

LIVE: England v South Africa

The Proteas went to tea on 236/4 with Faf Du Plessis (42*) and Temba Bavuma (12*) set to resume after the interval.

After England had taken two quick wickets before lunch, Amla and Du Plessis batted circumspectly, waiting for the bad balls from England's tiring attack.

Amla only added 23 runs from his lunch time score before he was LBW to left-arm spinner Liam Dawson for a well played 80.

Du Plessis was also more than happy to bide his time, but with the Test match only just through the halfway point, one could see why.

At tea, the Proteas lead by a massive 366 runs and surely will be aiming to push that to as close to 450 as possible
