Cape Town - South Africa's convenor of selectors Linda Zondi says there won't be many changes to the Proteas starting XI for the third and final Test against Australia in Adelaide.

The Proteas have an unassailable 2-0 series lead and will be looking to secure a whitewash against the mentally bruised Australians in South Africa's first pink-ball Test.

Zondi noted that despite the Proteas' resounding victories in Perth and Hobart, the selectors will not make too many changes in order to give some the opportunity to regain form.

“That’s one thing from a selection panel that we try to maintain - to make sure we don’t fiddle around with the squad too much,” said Zondi, as quoted by the TimesLive website.

“It’s important that we maintain the stability of the squad and the structure of the starting XI.

“When we come up with a decision in the starting XI‚ we give guys and opportunity and we back guys,” added Zondi.

Some of the players who’ve struggled to perform in Australia so far include opener Stephen Cook, who has only scored 35 runs this series and Hashim Amla, with only 48 runs to his name.

“The more guys understand their roles‚ the better for the team and the better for us moving forward," said Zondi.

“That’s why we’ve got a squad of 16‚ that’s part of the plan,” replied Zondi, when asked about whether there will be any changes to the Adelaide Test.

The third and final day-night Test in Adelaide begins on Thursday, November 24 at 05:30 SA time.
