Cape Town - Former Proteas spinner Pat Symcox feels Allan Donald should be utilised within Cricket South Africa’s structures.

Symcox, 56, was responding to news that Donald had joined English county Kent as an assistant to new head coach Matt Walker.

Donald, 50, was the Proteas’ bowling coach between 2011 and 2015. He has also worked with the New Zealand, England and Australian national teams.

Donald will now work under Walker, who has been promoted after serving under Jimmy Adams, with the former West Indies international vacating his position last October after five seasons in charge.

However Symcox, who played 20 Tests and 80 ODIs for South Africa, is not happy to see Donald’s expertise utilised by another country.

He took to social media to share his views on the matter, writing on his official Facebook page: "Don't hear CSA being sad about his bowling knowledge leaving. Why is AD not being used in our system and contracted long-term to teach the youngsters..."
