Cape Town - The Wanderers wicket prepared for the third Test between the Proteas and England looks hard with a tinge of grass.

With South Africa needing to win at the Bullring - as well as next week at SuperSport Park in Centurion in order to clinch the series - new Proteas skipper AB de Villiers will be hoping his all-pace attack will be able to snare 20 England wickets on the strip prepared by groundsman Bethuel Buthelezi.

The heatwave experienced in Gauteng in recent weeks has given way to cooler weather of late, and rain is forecast for each day of the Test.

On Wednesday the Proteas released Dane Piedt for Sunfoil Series duty, meaning a four-man pace attack of Morne Morkel, Kagiso Rabada, Chris Morris and debutant Hardus Viljoen is expected to do duty for the home side.

In addition, JP Duminy is likely to be drafted in to the team that did duty at Newlands for the New Year's Test, which would mean a shift to the opener position for wicketkeeper Quinton de Kock - with Stiaan van Zyl demoted to 12th-man duties.

BBC correspondent Jonathan Agnew tweeted a picture of the Wanderers wicket, while making mention of the fact the visitors are sweating over the fitness of opener Alex Hales.
