Dubai - Pakistan all-rounder Sohail Tanvir has been fined 10 percent of his match fee for breaching the code of conduct during his team's six-run loss against South Africa in their Twenty20 international on Friday.

The ICC says in a statement on Saturday that the left-arm fast bowler accepted the sanctions imposed by match referee Ranjan Madugalle without the need to convene a disciplinary hearing.

Tanvir pointed toward the dressing room with both hands after dismissing AB de Villiers in the 18th over.

Tanvir breached the code of conduct which relates to "pointing or gesturing toward the pavilion by a bowler or a fielder upon the dismissal of a batsman during an international match."

South Africa jumped to No 3 in the Twenty20 rankings after whitewashing Pakistan 2-0 in the series.
