Paarl - Rory Kleinveldt returned to Sunfoil Series action with a bang as he prised out two key wickets to put the Cape Cobras in charge of their clash with the Titans on day two at Boland Park.

Kleinveldt dismissed Heino Kuhn and Henry Davids to record figures of 2 for 30 as the Titans went to stumps on 183 for four in response to the Cobras’ first-innings total of 429 all out.

The first part of the day belonged to Shaun von Berg, who dismissed Dane Vilas for 77 in the 11th over of the day to open up the tail, and then took two further wickets to finish with 4 for 102.

That ensured that the Cobras’ total was not allowed to become unmanageable after they had resumed on 345 for five, and gave the Titans a share of the day's honours even if they remain behind in the game.

Kleinveldt condemned the Titans to a poor start when he bowled Kuhn with the fifth ball of the reply, before Justin Kemp bowled Francois le Clus to leave the visitors on 21 for two.

However, Davids rebuilt the innings with a patient 41 before he was trapped lbw by Kleinveldt, and then the Titans continued the recovery with a 76-run stand between Graeme van Buuren and Qaasim Adams.

Although Adams was trapped lbw by Dane Piedt with stumps in sight, Van Buuren survived to end the day unbeaten on 83.
