Cape Town - Cape Cobras spin bowler, Sybrand Engelbrecht, had his bowling action re-assessed at the CSA Powerade Centre of Excellence on January 12 and has been cleared to resume bowling with immediate effect.

The Independent Assessment has found that Engelbrecht’s action is within the parameters contained in the CSA Regulations for the Review of Bowlers Reported with Suspected Illegal Bowling Actions, hence his suspension from bowling in CSA competitions is lifted with immediate effect.

Meanwhile, Dolphins spinner, Prenelan Subrayen, had his bowling action re-assessed on the same date.

The Independent Assessment concluded that Subrayen’s bowling action remains outside the permissible parameters.

Therefore, Subrayen’s suspension from bowling in CSA competition will remain in force until such time as he is re-assessed and found to be within the said parameters.
