South African-born, Western Province cricketer David Bedingham won three individual awards at the Durham County Cricket Club's award ceremony.

The batter was handed the Paul Collingwood Medal (Player-of-the-Year), Players' Player-of-the-Year and Members' Player-of-the-Year for his effort for Durham last season.

Bedingham was also nominated alongside fellow South African Simon Harmer  Professional Cricketers’ Association Player of the Year award, where they will also jostle for the gong with England Test captain Joe Root as well as Nottinghamshire all-rounder Luke Wells.

The former SA Under-19 batsman joined Durham in 2020 but is set to rejoin WP for the 2021/22 domestic campaign.

The 27-year-old scored the fourth-most runs during the 2021 County Championship, with Proteas legend Hashim Amla finishing 5th on that list with 994 runs for Surrey.
