No sledging from Scott

Sydney - Adam Scott Wednesday refused to get involved in any friendly sledging with Robert Allenby as he seeks to join his compatriot in capturing Australia's golfing "Grand Slam".

World number two Scott has captured two legs of the "Triple Crown" so far in winning the Australian PGA Championship and successfully defending the Australian Masters this month.

Allenby created Australian golfing history in 2005 by winning all three events in the same season and will tee up this week at Royal Sydney looking to deny Scott a chance to match him.

The duo attended a gala dinner on Tuesday night but Scott was not going to be drawn into any banter with Allenby, despite his countryman failing to offer him any advice.

"I'll leave the sledging to the cricketers," said Scott, referring to the current Test series between Australia and England that has been marred by each side hurling insults at each other in a bid to gain the mental advantage.

"I did catch up with Rob last night at the function and I asked him for some advice on how to go about it and, but he didn't offer up any advice.

"So I guess I am left to my own devices."

Scott will tee up on Thursday having finished third in last week's World Cup at Royal Melbourne and if successful this week will match Tiger Woods with five victories this year, including his first major at the Masters in Augusta.
