Augusta under ice - PICTURE!

accreditation
Cape Town - Two weeks ago, Augusta National turned into a winter wonderland when a large storm blew through and coated the famed venue in snow.

According to the Golf Channel website, when another system moved through Georgia on Wednesday, though, it left a very different trail in its wake: a solid layer of ice, up to an inch thick in certain parts.

As clean-up efforts began in earnest on Thursday, it was clear that the course was left slightly worse for wear following the storm, as evidenced by the iconic "Members Only" sign that was left dangling outside the club's entrance:

Tournament organisers have 55 more days until the first round of the Masters, at which point the course will likely return to the traditional greenish hue that makes it so recognisable each spring.

The 2014 Masters starts on April 10 when Australia's Adam Scott will defend his title.
