Cape Town - South Africa's Branden Grace admitted it would be "amazing" to be part of Ernie Els' Presidents Cup team next year.

Els and former world No 1 Tiger Woods were confirmed on Wednesday as the International and United States team captains, respectively.

Els will be the sixth person to serve as a captain for the International Team after Nick Price - 2017, 2015, 2013; Greg Norman - 2011, 2009; Gary Player - 2007, 2005, 2003; Peter Thomson - 2000, 1998, 1996 and David Graham - 1994.

Grace, who is currently ranked 27th in the world, will be looking to make his fourth Presidents Cup appearance in 2019.

The eight-time European Tour winner took to Twitter to congratulate Els and stated he would be honoured to play under the "legend".

"Awesome to see that @TheBig_Easy is going to be leading the Internationals at the @PresidentsCup in Melbourne !Would be amazing to be apart of that team and to play under the LEGEND!!! #gointernational #erniestheman," wrote Grace.

The United States have won 10 of 12 prior editions of the event, with one tie and just one International victory, in 1998 in Melbourne.

The biennial matchplay event between the USA and a team drawn from around the world - excluding Europe - will take place from December 9-15 next year at the Royal Melbourne Golf Club.
