Cape Town - Toro Rosso and Red Bull will be closer than ever next season with Franz Tost revealing his team will run Red Bull components similar to the Haas and Ferrari set-up.

Next season Red Bull will be swapping to Honda power, the engine that Toro Rosso have been racing since the beginning of 2018.

The change means the two teams, who fall under the same ownership, can also share other parts with Tost saying they are set to embrace that.

Under F1 regulations there is a list of parts that teams may share with other outfits, a ruling that paved the way for the Haas-Ferrari relationship that has some rival teams up in airs.

Toro Rosso are planning on adopting a similar approach when it comes to their 2019 car.

"We will have a very close co-operation with Red Bull Technology next year because we will have the same rear part," said Tost on Formula1.com, "which means the power unit, gearbox and the suspension - everything within the regulations (that we’re allowed to use).

"The front suspension as well, the inner parts, not the outer parts. But that’s a lot, because the complete rear part means also the hydraulics, the electronics, all this kind of stuff."
