Cape Town - Mercedes team principal Toto Wolff has vowed to show no favouritism, despite Lewis Hamilton boasting an almost unassailable lead over Valtteri Bottas.

The duo head into round 18 of the 2019 season, the Mexican Grand Prix, as the last men standing in the title chase.

Hamilton is leading on 338 points with Bottas second, 64 points adrift.

As such Hamilton only needs to outscore his team-mate by 14 points at the Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez to secure his sixth Drivers' Championship.

That means a win for Hamilton and a P5 for Bottas would end the title race.

However, a win for Hamilton with a bonus point for fastest lap means Bottas would need to be on the podium to keep the fight going.

Wolff has promised to treat both drivers equally.

The Mercedes motorsport boss told BBC Sport: "We have to stay true to the values we have defined in the past and always played the most-fair game. You can see how difficult it is sometimes today.

"We are certainly keen on seeing them racing.

"Valtteri is very much an outsider with the points - two and a half wins out of four races - so we will give them equal opportunity and it is for them to race it out on track."
