Cape Town - Despite the Springboks sub-par performance in their narrow win over the Pumas in Mendoza Sport24 readers have backed the Springboks to beat the Wallabies by a margin of less than seven points in Brisbane.

Kick-off is at 12:05 SA time.

According to our online poll 71 percent of readers backed a Springbok win against the Wallabies in Australia, whilst just over half expected the Boks to win by a margin of 7 points or less.

This could be regarded as optimistic: The Springboks have never won in Brisbane and haven't won an away match in Australasia in the Rugby Championship (formerly known as the Tri-Nations prior to the inclusion of Argentina in 2012) since 2009 against the All Blacks in Hamilton.

The bookies (Ladbrokes) have installed the Wallabies at 8/15 as firm favourites (Springboks 13/8) to win the match.

Sport24 asked:

"What will be result of this weekend's Rugby Championship match between the Wallabies and the Boks?"

These were the results:

51% - Springboks by 7 points or less

20% - Springboks by 8+ points

18% - Wallabies by 7 points or less

11% - Wallabies by 8+ points

1% - A draw
