Fans ponder NZ puzzle

Cape Town - Sport24 readers have offered their reasons for the All Blacks' dominance over the Springboks in recent years.

The Springboks have failed to beat the All Blacks under Heyneke Meyer in four attempts, and although they have shown a remarkable improvement in 2013, beating every other opponent, their inability to overcome the All Blacks remains a glaring black mark on Meyer's coaching record.

The Springbok will have to break their New Zealand hoodoo in 2014 if they don't want to head into a Rugby World Cup season with a significant psychological disadvantage.

This is what Sport24 readers had to say about the All Blacks strangle-hold over the Springboks:

"The All Blacks cheat. . . they get away with murder on field." - Elandra van Wyk

"Fitness and fatigue played a big roll in our losses." - Lionel Kemm

"You have to maintain the intensity for 80 mins against the AB's. We saw it again against Ireland that they're unrelenting right until the end and the Boks have to match that. Bok structures seem to be in place now, they must just get into that habbit of beating the AB's again, transfer that uncertainty to them and rob them of their superior confidence." - Shaun Davidson

"One trick is to avoid getting spat on by those disgusting South African All Black supporters when they play in South Africa." - Stephen Axtell

"The All Blacks are just invincible which reminds me of the Aussie cricket team of Steve Waugh & co..." - Tauriq Bleuw

"No one is invincible!" - Jason Hepple

"One reason = Senseless kicking!" - Riaan Pieterse

"One other thing which most of us forget... we DID go out and score 4 tries against them at Ellis Park, something no team has done in over 3 years. Le Roux came close to scoring another 2 but for desperate defence that just managed to stop him. In other words, we showed up a few of their weaknesses, albeit at the expense of our defensive structure. Now, if we can strike the balance between attack and defence..." - Paul Brady

"The truth is the All Blacks are fitter and better skilled than the Boks particularly in the forwards. Too many missed tackles by fatties such as Jannie and John Smit have cost the Boks Test matches." - Vince Sekhona

"Fitness also a major reason...." - Mark Schade

"When last did AC give JdV, Eben, Kolisi, Bryan or Duane a game off, apart from injury or suspension?" - PB

"Poor discipline and problem at flyhalf I would say. Oh yes and of course the senseless, poor kicking (which did improve a bit as the season went on)." - Binne Goed

"The All Blacks of 2010-13 are their greatest team in the professional era..." - AB

"Key to their success are:
1.Superb fitness.
2.Contributions they get from players coming off the bench.
3.Self belief that they haven't had before. For example other teams would just fold mentally at Ellis Park, but the All Blacks refused to do so.
4.An an outstanding player like Kieran Read who not only scored a lot of tries but help set them up too.
5.Loose forwards that can attack, defend and reach the breakdown 1st before the ball carriers does. That is cause they more mobile.
The Rugby Gods must help the rest of the rugby fraternity if the All Blacks find props that can actually scrum..." - Sean

"player management is key and we are hopelessly failing in that aspect.... not to mention the fact that we also dont vary our game play.." - Keanen Beyers

"He also forgot to mention that the All Blacks have all the refs in pocket." - Spyker O'Flannagan

"Jimmy, the Boks have better players than the All Blacks in certain positions. The All Blacks are superior to the Boks for now, but we will be back, hopefully." - Adrian Snyman

"change the bulls coach his game plan is outdated and hes forever picking old crocks." - King Richie
