I agree with Jannie

I actually happen to agree with Jannie about the yellow card - he was committing to the tackle when the Lions player kicked ahead, and then withdrew the tackle once he kicked ahead, but his body was already going into the tackle position. If you look at it again, without the 'Anti-Jannie' glasses on, and consider it from his perspective - you will see that he pulls out of the tackle, but his body is still leaning in that direction - so he made contact with the Lions player. I think the yellow card was a bit harsh. Having said that, I agree wholeheartedly that there is far to much input from the 30 other referees on the field, and that should be stopped.

On the same vein, I notice with dismay a creeping decline to the standards on the soccer field, of players approaching the ref with a view to getting a player from the other team yellow carded. I think it is despicable for captains (and other players) approaching the ref and suggesting that a foul is 'cynical', or 'professional' , or in any other way try and get the ref to yellow-card a player from the opposition. By all means, approach the ref to ensure that he applies the laws even-handedly - but this incessant attempt to have a player from the other team carded is poor sportsmanship, and should be stopped.
