Here are some unique rugby rules that do not apply to Polynesian players in games reffed by Polynesian refs:

* Releasing the ball after being tackled
* Entering a ruck or maul from the side (McCaw speciality)
* Leaving one's feet in the ruck (McCaw speciality)
* Deliberately collapsing a scrum or illegally collapsing a maul
* Swimming up the side of a maul
* Being offside and not making an effort to move to an onside position.(McCaw speciality)
* High tackles
* Throwing or knocking the ball forwards, or out of play in any direction.
* Tackling or holding an opponent who is not in possession of the ball.(Speciality)
* Obstructing an opponent from tackling the ball-carrier (Speciality).
* Contesting or dissenting from a referee's decision and using abusive language towards match officials.(Coaches speciality)
* Actions "contrary to good sportsmanship" (such as throwing the ball into opponents faces, exessively congratulating opponent who made a fatal error)
