Cape Town - Gary Kirsten will be riding his first Absa Cape Epic from March 13-20 in an effort to raise funds for the installation of cricket net facilities at various township schools under the Gary Kirsten Foundation.

Kirsten will be joining forces with Michael Mol in an attempt to complete the 700km challenge, which is divided into eight stages. Kirsten is aiming to raise R90 000 per stage in order to install eight cricket nets at eight South African township schools.

"I’m just a few days away from participating in the Cape Epic mountain bike race in the Western Cape,” said an excited Kirsten.
