Arlamov - Francois Botha kept his losing streak intact when Andrew Wawrzyk stopped him in the fifth round at the weekend.

The South African veteran, who fought Mike Tyson, Lennox Lewis and Wladimir Klitschko during his long career, lost for the sixth time in a row.

Fighting in Arlamov, Poland, “the White Buffalo” suffered his 11th defeat in 61 fights, including two draws and 29 wins inside the distance.

Wawrzyk’s victory over the 45-year-old Botha took his record to 29-1, with 15 knockouts.

Botha, who held the World Boxing Foundation title and claimed the IBF belt when he beat Germany’s Axel Schulz, has not won a fight since 2011 when he beat Flo Simba at Kempton Park in South Africa. Since then he has lost to Michael Grant, Carlos Takam, Francesco Pianeta, Sonny Bill Williams and Joseph Parker.

Another African heavyweight, Isaac Chilemba, did better when he beat Denis Grachev on points in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, on Saturday night.

Chilemba, a Malawian who based himself in Johannesburg, won on points over ten rounds, with two judges scoring it 99-91 and the third making it 100-9.

The result takes Chilemba’s record to 22-2-2, including 9 knockouts. Grachev’s fell to 13-3-1; 8.

In the main bout, Cyacheslav Glazkov beat veteran Thomas Adamek on points over twelve rounds. Glazkov, still undefeated after 18 bouts, cruised to a 117-111, 117-110 and 116-112 victory. Adamek now stands at 49-3, including 29 knockouts.
