Belgarion, trained by Justin Snaith, has won the 124th running of the Durban July.

Ridden by Richard Fourie, Belgarion held off Got the Greenlight and former July winner, Do it Again, also trained by Snaith.

With the win, Snaith claimed his third July in a row and his fifth in total.

Up to this victory, Belgarion had won seven from nine starts and over R1.5 million in prize money.

Due to Covid-19, the richest race in Africa took place at Greyville racecourse without any public attendance.

Normally, over 50 000 people would have attended the event.
