Cape Town - Brazil’s Jose da Rocha will fight welterweight contender Conrad Seabi at EFC 76 following the withdrawal of Luke Michael through injury.

Michael pulled out of the main-card slot last week with a dislocated knee, with Da Rocha vowing to put on a show as his replacement at Time Square in Pretoria on December 8.

The Brazilian jiu-jitsu and Muay Thai specialist said: “Conrad is a great athlete. We will give the fans the fight they want.”

Da Rocha (9-5) aims to rebound from a hard-fought unanimous decision loss to Gunther Kalunda (5-0) in an interim title bout in September.

Seabi (6-4), who TKO’d German Max Merten (1-3) last month, has warned the Pitbull Brothers product he will be hunting his head on home soil.

“In my home town, in my backyard, he better condition his jaw because when I connect, people sleep. Jose is next!”

The 39-year-old has won five of his last six fights, with his sole defeat coming via unanimous decision to Kalunda.

Italian women’s strawweight champion Chiarra Penco (4-0) will battle American Cheyanne Vlismas (2-1) in the headline event of EFC 76.

A stacked main card also features ex-UFC heavyweight Ruan Potts (11-6) versus Jared Vanderaa (7-3), Andrew van Zyl (19-4) vs Stuart Austin (12-5) and Dallas Jakobi (6-5-1) vs Gordon Roodman (3-6-1).
