Johannesburg - The  article Boxing SA board angling for extended run as ringmasters (City Press, April 23) implied that the board was looking to stay on after its current term expires.

The opening paragraph read:

“As the BSA Board’s three-year term of office comes to an end next month, chairperson Muditambi Ravele believes they’ve done so well that they deserve to be given an extended term by the new minister of sport, Thembelani Nxesi.”

City Press retracts the above paragraph and its implication as Ravele did not say or imply that the current board was seeking an extension of its term beyond the current one, which ends soon.

City Press apologises to Ravele and other board members for the error, and for any suggestion that they were canvassing to be retained as board members when their term expires.
