In honour of the Tour de France, AutoTrader have listed their top three Tour picks - brand new European cars perfect for meandering along the world’s greatest race, one of which could, or could not, be the mystery 99c vehicle:

One of Britain’s most legendary sports cars sails through the French Alps and is top of the list – enter the Jaguar. The 2015 F Type S Coupe with its tiptronic transmission and impeccable handling offers an unforgettable two-person glide through the mountains.

Audi’s renowned German engineering makes for machines bred to float through the best of the Tour, whether tackling the toughest mountain climbs or the most enchanting coastline. Treat the family to a Tour in the sleek and spacious Q7 3.0TDI Quattro, or go honeymooning in the peerless 2-door TT 2.0T.

No Tour would be complete without France’s own Citroën, created by André-Gustave Citroën in 1924. Ranging from the 4x4 power of the C4 SUV to the ultra light and easy DS3 THP 155 Sport, the Citroen’s affordability means double the sights for the same easy price.
