South African swimming sensation Tatjana Schoenmaker was in superb form at the national short course swimming championships held from 25 to 27 October in Pietermaritzburg.

Schoenmaker set three Africa and national records during the event, twice breaking the 100m breaststroke record as well as the 50m and 200m breaststroke records.

Her time of 1:03.89 in the 100m breaststroke final saw Schoemaker break the 1:04 mark she had set herself as a target.

She also managed to swim 30.20 for the 50m breaststroke event and 2:18.02 in the 200m breaststroke as well.

Schoenmaker times have seen her qualify for the world short course championships to be held in Abu Dhabi in 2021.
