12 years on, Beast still has to pinch himself over bossing Lions' vaunted scrum

Yet, in terms of laying down an emphatic marker, nothing will beat Tendai 'Beast' Mtawarira's outstanding scrummaging performance in the first Test at King's Park.

In only his second year as an international player, the legendary loosehead - then only 23 - gave his experienced direct opponent, English tighthead Phil Vickery, an absolute hammering.

Vickery memorably revealed afterwards that: "You know you have had a bad game when your mum, your missus and your sister all text you to say they still love you."
