You'd have to harbour a deep-rooted grudge against the Bulls to come to any conclusion that they have somehow been "favoured" in the Currie Cup run-in by the rescheduling of their top-of-table clash with Highveld neighbours the Lions.
Their CEO, Edgar Rathbone, felt compelled this week to defend the development in the face, for what it is worth, of some social media discontent... murmurs along the lines that if various fixtures in Super Rugby Unlocked or the Currie Cup could be declared draws by coronavirus considerations, why couldn't their Lions tussle (unable to take place on Boxing Day as first scheduled) experience the same fate?
