Cape Town - Pat Lambie will make his first competitive appearance since June 11 when the Sharks take on the EP Kings in Durban on Saturday.

It has been a long road to recovery for the flyhalf, who was knocked out cold by a late hit from Ireland flank CJ Stander while on duty for the Springboks at Newlands in the first Test of that series.

That makes it well over three months since Lambie last played, but according to Sharks coach Robert du Preez, he has fully recovered.

"He's ready to go," Du Preez said after naming Lambie on his bench for this weekend.

"Pat has had a great two weeks ... we're very pleased that he's back.

"We're pleased for him, but it's great for us too and we're just glad that he's going to get some game time.

"He'll definitely get some game time on Saturday and then we'll just take it one game at a time.

"Hopefully he will come through and we can use him again."

The Sharks have a bye after the Kings game before closing out there regular season with a trip to Johannesburg to take on the Golden Lions.

It makes maximum points against the bottom of the log Kings absolutely imperative as Du Preez and his charges look to book a spot in the semi-finals.

"This is obviously a very important game for us. We taking this game very seriously," he said.

"We know what EP has done to the Bulls up at Loftus .. that game was in the balance right up until the end. We're not taking them lightly, but we need to hit our straps this weekend."

The match kicks off at 15:00.
