Cape Town - Pumas coach Jimmy Stonehouse has been linked with the vacant Bulls job, but he says there has been no contact with the union as yet.

The Bulls are looking for a new coach ahead of the 2019 Super Rugby season following the departure of John Mitchell last month.

Mitchell left Loftus after just one season in charge to take up a position as assistant coach to the England national side ahead of next year's World Cup.

Pote Human has been in charge of the Blue Bulls in the Currie Cup this year, but there has still been no clarity on who Mitchell's replacement will be next year.

"It’s a big opportunity, but there’s been no contact," Stonehouse told SA Rugbymag on Tuesday.

"The only updates I get about the job is through the media.

"If it comes to nothing, I’m more than happy to stick with the Pumas and work on making them a better team."

Current Western Province coach John Dobson and Kings coach Deon Davids have also been linked to the Bulls job.
