The Boks broke a three-year drought when they beat their old rivals 27-25, courtesy of a late 55m penalty from substitute flyhalf Pat Lambie.

The game was played in good spirit with both captains and coaches lauding their counterparts following the epic encounter.

The Kiwis - who lost for the first time in 22 Tests - accepted they were beaten by the better team on the day and on Tuesday again congratulated the Boks on their win, as well as wishing them good luck for their upcoming European tour.

The Springboks will face Ireland in Dublin (November 8), England in London (November 15), Italy in Padova (November 22) and Wales in Cardiff (November 29).

Below is the tweet posted from the All Blacks' official Twitter account on Tuesday:

To one of our mightiest opponents, again congratulations on your win and best of luck in Europe #RSAvNZL @AllBlacks pic.twitter.com/wFlQZXYVWb
