Cape Town - The world champion All Blacks will romp to victory in this year's Rugby Championship, if bookmakers are to be believed...

Victory would be the All Blacks' 16th since the tournament, previously known as the Tri-Nations, started back in 1996.

The Wallabies have tasted success on four occasions, with the Springboks winners in 1998, 2004 and 2009.

The Pumas, having entered the fray in 2012, are yet to register a tournament victory. In fact, in their six campaigns to date, only once (2015) have they not finished as wooden-spoonists.

Leading SA bookies Sportingbet have installed New Zealand as 3/20 favourites, followed by Australia 13/2, South Africa 9/1 and Argentina rank outsiders at 80/1.

Australia will host the All Blacks in Sydney in Saturday's opener - which will double as the first Bledisloe Cup clash - at 12:05 SA time.

Later in the day (17:05), the Springboks will welcome Argentina to Kings Park.
