Blitzboks joint favourites in Cape Town

Cape Town - Neil Powell's South African Sevens team are joint favourites for the title at the HSBC World Rugby Sevens series Cape Town leg.

The Blitzboks, who are defending champions having won last year's tournament in Port Elizabeth, have been installed as joint favourites alongside Fiji at 15/8.

Fiji were victorious in last weekend's opening tournament in Dubai.

Leading SA bookmakers Sportingbet have New Zealand at 7/2 followed by England at 17/2 and Australia and the USA at 14/1.

The Blitzboks have been drawn in Pool B alongside Zimbabwe, Kenya and England.

Play gets under way at 10:15 on Saturday at the Cape Town Stadium.

The Blitzboks will play Zimbabwe at 12:49 in their opening clash, followed by a showdown with Kenya at 16:10.

As hosts, the Blitzboks will have the honour of playing the final match on Day 1 against England at 19:56.
