The Blitzboks secured a 31-19 victory in their quarter-final against Kenya on the second day of the Dubai Sevens on Saturday.

They led 17-7 at halftime after a strong first half showing, with tries from Zain Davids, Siviwe Soyizwapi and Ronald Brown.

The win means they will face France in the semi-final.

Christie Grobbelaar and Shaun Williams got in on the act in the second half to extend the lead and all but secure South Africa's victory.

Two late tries for Kenya came courtesy of Timothy Mmasi and Jeffrey Oluoch, as they put in a strong showing.

It was business as usual for the South African Sevens team on Friday as they raced to the quarter-final with victories against Japan (48-0), Ireland (21-12) and Great Britain (21-7).

Saturday's semi-final gets underway at 12:46 (SA time).
