Cape Town – The Blitzboks will face New Zealand in the final of the Wellington Sevens after destroying Fiji 31-0.

South Africa were under early pressure with Fiji fluffing a certain scoring chance by knocking-on with the tryline at their mercy.

Seabelo Senatla then opened the scoring for the BlitzBoks in the second minute when he collected a beautifully weighted kick by Cheslin Kolbe.

Kolbe extended the lead after scything through the Fijian defence to go over for an unconverted try.

South Africa led 12-0 at half-time.

Any thought of a Fijian fightback in the second half was quickly put to rest with Rosko Specman extending the Blitzbok lead with a brilliant individual effort while Fiji lost the services of Vatemo Ravouvou who received a yellow card for punching.

Kwagga Smith and Kolbe profited from Fijian mistakes to round of the scoring in the final minute.

The Blitzboks, looking to win their second Sevens crown in 2016, will have to overcome a confident New Zealand for the title.

The two sides met in the pool stages on Saturday with New Zealand running out 19-14 winners.

Earlier in the day, the Blitzboks defeated Australia 26-14 in a quarter-final fixture with Chris Dry, Senatla (2), Kolbe and Phillip Snyman all crossing the white-wash.
