Cape Town - The Blitzboks are into the final of the Sydney Sevens after thrashing the United States 35-7 in a one-sided encounter at the Allianz Stadium.

Seabelo Senatla opened the scoring in the third minute after a brilliant switch in play from Justin Geduld.

Geduld added the conversion for South Africa to lead 7-0.

A minute later, the Blitzboks were down to six men after Geduld was carded for a deliberate knock down.

The United States made the extra man count with Perry Baker getting over at the left-hand corner for a converted try to level things up at 7-7.

On the stroke of half-time it was the United States down to six men after Folau Niua was sent to the bin for a high tackle on Rosko Specman.

With a numbers advantage, the Blitzboks calmly put Tim Agaba in space and the big forward cruised over for a converted score and a 14-7 lead.

South Africa had the best possible start after half-time with Werner Kock beating his man to score under the poles. Geduld added the conversion to push the lead out to 21-7.

Another converted try followed from Geduld as the Blitzboks extended their lead to 28-7 with the United States having no answers to their attacking prowess.

Senatla then finished off a brilliant Blitzbok attack to further rub salt into the wounds of the United States just before the full-time whistle.

The Blitzboks will now face Australia in the final after they beat Argentina 28-0.

Kick-off is at 11:48 (SA time).
