Cape Town - Springbok Sevens speedster Seabelo Senatla joined the exclusive '200-try' club at the Cape Town Sevens on Saturday - and did so in record time.
Senatla became only the fifth player
to reach 200 HSBC World Rugby Sevens Series tries, but achieved the feat in the fewest number of
tournaments - only 35 - at an average of just under six tries per event.
Senatla joined the club which also consists of Dan Norton (England, 272), Collins Injera (Kenya, 246), Santiago Gomez Cora (Argentina, 230) and Ben Gollings (England, 220).
Entering the tournament needing four tries to reach the milestone, Senatla scored a hat-trick in the Blitzboks' 40-5 opening win over Russia and brought up his double century in the next match, a 31-5 victory against France.
Senatla added a fifth try for the day in their final Pool A 26-7 triumph against Kenya for good measure.
South African fans will be hoping Senatla continues his rich vein of try-scoring form on Sunday as they prepare to face Fiji in the Cup quarter-finals at 12:04.
