Cape Town - Former Springbok wing Stefan Terblanche believes there are enough talented outside backs for national coach Allister Coetzee to draw from.

Terblanche, who played 38 Tests for the Springboks between 1998 and 2003, shared his views on SuperSport's Afrikaans rugby programme SuperRugby on Monday night.

Terblanche discussed the possibilities at wing and singled out Lions flyer Courtnall Skosan as the country’s in-form player.

“I got excited when I looked at the players we have. One player that stands out for me this season is Courtnall Skosan from the Lions, who are also South Africa’s best team. He’s a fantastic player,” Terblanche said.

Terblanche is also a fan of Skosan's Lions team-mate Ruan Combrinck, who made an impressive comeback from injury when he scored two tries against the Bulls at Ellis Park last weekend.

“Ruan Combrinck came back this past weekend after a long injury. He looked eager to play rugby. Ruan is a player that understands the game well, not only is he a good wing and fullback, but he’s also a good rugby player. He knows how to position himself,” Terblanche said.

Terblanche would also call on the services of 124-Test capped wing Bryan Habana, who currently plies his trade at Toulon in France.

“I don’t know if Bryan Habana is available. But knowing Bryan the way I do, he’d like to play for the Springboks until he’s no longer capable. His experience could prove vital,” Terblanche continued.

Discussing other possibilities, Terblanche said:

“Lwazi Mvovo (Sharks) had another good game (at the weekend), even though it was from the fullback position against the Sunwolves... but he’s one of those players when he’s on form, he’s a good player and good finisher.

“Seabelo Senatla (Stormers) is maybe a bit young still and lacks experience, Sergeal Petersen and Raymond Rhule are struggling a bit at Free State (Cheetahs), but as a team they’re not getting the opportunity, Dillyn Leyds (Stormers), he’s had one or two good games...”

Coetzee will name his squad for the three-Test series against France at 13:00 on Tuesday.
