FULL TIME AT LOFTUS

What an excellent game of rugby!  Both teams looking to give the ball air and some sublime skill on display at times.

The Bulls started like a house on fire but as they usually do the Crusaders worked their way back into the game. The second half saw the Crusaders punished for some ill discipline with the boot of Pollard extending the Bulls lead.

An intercept try by Hattingh put the game beyond the Crusaders.

80' - The Crusaders knock on and the that is game over! The Bulls run out deserved winners.

80'- The Crusaders are over in the left hand corner, but it was a forward pass. They have a penalty however as the Bulls were offside. They tap and go.

73' - Pollard misses! He turned and ran back as if he thought it was going through the posts but it drifted left at the last moment.

72' - The Bulls win a scrum penalty as the ref pings the Crusaders for not keeping the scrum square and steady after initially warning them. Pollard will look to extend the Bulls lead.

69' - The Bulls scrum looking stronger as the game has gone on. The Bulls looking for another score as they move into the Crusaders half. Matfield tries a "speculator" and Nadolo should have intercepted but knocks on.

65' - TRY to the Bulls! Hattingh picks up an intercept as Carter tried a flick inside. He juggled it but held on and managed to outpace the Crusaders defence to the tryline. He ran that in from around 40m out. Pollard converts.

62' - The Crusaders turning up the heat, looking for a try. Through 9 phases now and only 10m out. Slade tries a cross kick for Nadolo, but the ball goes out. Referee was playing advantage for the Crusaders as the Bulls had gone offside. Carter will kick at goal.

42' - Paige kicks ahead from the lineout and the balls rolls out. Matfield gets his first steal of the night at the front of the lineout and in the resulting play the Crusaders knock on. The Bulls have a scrum just outside the Crusaders 22m area.

HALF TIME IN PRETORIA

The Bulls lead the Crusaders 18 - 16. The home team came out snorting fire and quickly ran into a 12 - 0 lead, scoring two tries through Hougaard and Odendall

The Crusaders slowly ground their way back into the match and were rewarded with a try of their own through Nadolo, converted by Carter who also kicked three penalties.

40' - Pollard tries a drop goal on the hooter, the Crusaders charge it down and attack down field. They are 5m from the Bulls line. A knock on brings the half to an end.

25' - The Bulls immediately have a penalty after McCaw infringes after the kick-off. Pollard will kick at goal.

23' - TRY to the Crusaders! Don't give them a sniff, they will punish you. The ball is worked to the left, down the backline to Nadolo around 15m out and with plenty to do. His strength gets him past two defenders, along the left hand touchline and he stretches full length to score. Carter converts from a difficult angle. The Crusaders lead for the first time tonight.

21' - The Crusaders bust through the middle again, this time through Ellis but excellent defence from the Bulls saves the day. They managed to turn the ball over as well and then win a penalty after the Crusaders go offside. Pollard clears down field to the half way line.
