Cross-kicks ... they were increasingly common, I felt, in the riveting package that was the all-New Zealand Super Rugby Aotearoa earlier this year.

Whether with Richie Mo'unga or Beauden Barrett at flyhalf, the All Blacks have since shown an appetite for employing it to healthy effect during recent international activity, too.

While hardly a new phenomenon in rugby union, it has also become a noticeably more prolific feature of South Africa's ongoing Super Rugby Unlocked.
