Cape Town - Junior Springbok captain Jeremy Ward will reportedly leave the EP Kings to join the Sharks next season.

According to Netwerk24, the young centre will ply his trade in Durban from 2017.

Ward, who captained the SA Under-20 side at the recent World Rugby Under-20 Championships in England, will feature for the EP Under-21 side this year before leaving the financially stricken union.

Ward captained the EP Under-19 last year when they won the national title. He also captained the EP Kings in the early part of this year’s Currie Cup Qualifiers, before being called up for Junior Springbok duty.

He made his Super Rugby debut as a replacement in the Southern Kings’ final two Super Rugby games this year.

Meanwhile, it is also being reported that Kings flank Stefan Willemse will join Western Province.

The 24-year-old impressed for the Southern Kings in Super Rugby this year but will now be returning to his roots, having been schooled at Paarl Gymnasium.
